Do seminars work?
October 20 2009, 6:44am
Each day that we spend at seminars, workshops, conventions and other 'business' events is a day that we are not 'working'. If the event we attend doesn't add value and create leads then it can be difficult to justify. If you factor in the 'big' events that cost a lot of money to attend then the stakes go up. The most difficult kind of event to justify is the one where you attendance is subsidised by misguided government departments.
If you want a couple days in a strange new environmet marvelling at all the peple enjoying the free coffee and gathering a 'Goodie' Bag that's full of irrelevant crap that you'll never use then take that freebie trip to the next convention that your local UKTI Office is offering. If you want to work, think twice.
